Art, history and tradition lit up the Borromean Gulf during the festive season, transforming Isola dei Pescatori into a striking stage of light. This was the setting for “Isole di Luce”, a project promoted by the Distretto Turistico dei Laghi and supported by DAG Communication through communications and media relations activities.
The initiative offered a different way of experiencing and telling the story of the destination, bringing together the island’s heritage and the atmosphere of the festive season. Light became the connecting thread of an experience designed to enhance the landscape, create a sense of wonder and offer visitors a new perspective on the area.
For DAG Communication, the challenge was to turn the project into a story capable of attracting the attention of national media, highlighting its strongest tourism, cultural and visual elements.
Through targeted press office and media relations activities, “Isole di Luce” gained visibility across television, radio, print and online media. Coverage included TG5 and TGCOM24, RTL 102.5 and leading outlets such as Repubblica, Corriere della Sera, La Stampa, RaiNews, SiViaggia and The Wom.
This broad media presence helped the project reach different audiences and extend the story of the destination beyond the local area, bringing Isola dei Pescatori and the Borromean Gulf to national attention.
“Isole di Luce” shows how an event can also become a powerful destination storytelling tool: an opportunity to showcase a place through new creative languages, generate reasons to visit at a specific time of year and strengthen its identity through content with strong media appeal.
In this case, light, art and tradition came together to create a narrative that reflected the character of the destination while offering the media a clear and engaging angle.
We are proud to have supported the Distretto Turistico dei Laghi on this project and to have helped bring “Isole di Luce” to national media, increasing the visibility of an initiative able to present the destination in a fresh and engaging way.
