When it comes to global events such as the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games, showcasing a destination requires more than visibility, it calls for a communication strategy that combines vision, meaningful connections, and flawless execution.

With this in mind, DAG Communication took on the challenge set by APF Valtellina at the start of the winter season: to promote Bormio and Livigno, two of the key hosts of the upcoming Olympic competitions, while highlighting the authentic character of a region preparing to step onto the world stage.

To mark the occasion, DAG conceived and delivered an exclusive press event in Milan, hosted in a stunning rooftop venue transformed into a showcase for the very best of Valtellina. The event was designed to connect the excitement building around Milano Cortina 2026 with the valley’s rich cultural heritage, sporting traditions, and renowned food and wine scene.

At the heart of the project was the creation of a fresh and engaging narrative that went beyond conventional destination marketing. A crucial role was played by the collaboration with some of the area’s leading stakeholders, including the Distretto Agroalimentare di Qualità della Valtellina and the Strada del Vino e dei Sapori della Valtellina, whose involvement helped bring to life a shared story shaped by local experiences, traditions, and people.

Athletes, producers, artisans, and winemakers all contributed to showcasing the true spirit
of Valtellina, offering guests an authentic insight into the excellence that makes the destination so distinctive.
Supported by a strategic PR and media relations programme, the event welcomed more than 30 journalists from Italy’s leading national media outlets. Guests were invited to enjoy an immersive experience that seamlessly combined sport, culture, and outstanding local gastronomy, providing a compelling preview of a territory set to play a starring role on the road to Milano Cortina 2026.
