{"id":78,"date":"2012-01-31T18:34:49","date_gmt":"2012-01-31T17:34:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.dagcom.com\/english\/?p=78"},"modified":"2012-01-31T18:34:49","modified_gmt":"2012-01-31T17:34:49","slug":"image-and-media-monitoring","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dagcom.com\/english\/image-and-media-monitoring\/","title":{"rendered":"Image and Media Monitoring"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This course aims to provide management with a series of specific skills which will enable them to present themselves adequately and to communicate effectively with the media.<br \/>\nThe course is addressed to members of senior management who would like to improve or update their communication skills and is designed for small groups of maximum 5\/6 participants.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The small size of the group ensures a high level of learning and allows a high degree of interaction among the participants, the consultants and the journalist taking part to the course.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Course content<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><\/strong><br \/>\nIn the world of information managers and spokespeople can influence significantly the perception of their company\u2019s image: the way they look, the way they behave and interact with their audience or stakeholders can improve or damage a brand.<br \/>\nIn the \u201cglobal village\u201d the public image of a company can also be affected by the media (printed press, television, radio or internet) and by the way its spokespeople are portrayed by the media.<br \/>\nThe course organised by DAG Communication aims to share with managers the fundamental \u201crules\u201d to build a good self-image (appearance, posture, language) and the practical \u201ctechniques\u201d to interact effectively with the media, using the advice and expertise of a high calibre journalist.<br \/>\nA substantial part of the course consists of intensive practical training with simulated interviews (on television, on the telephone and face to face). The interviews will be conducted in individual sessions and will remain confidential.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Course programme<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Media relations<br \/>\n&#8211; how to build a relationship with journalists<br \/>\n&#8211; the journalist \u2013 my best friend<br \/>\n&#8211; how a news desk works<br \/>\n&#8211; the news selection process<br \/>\n&#8211; what to say and what not to say to a journalist<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Handling media interviews<br \/>\n&#8211; when to give an interview<br \/>\n&#8211; risk or opportunity?<br \/>\n&#8211; face-to-face, on the phone, on television, via email<br \/>\n&#8211; replying to a question\u2026<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Handling a press conference<br \/>\n&#8211; what is a press conference<br \/>\n&#8211; what you should expect<br \/>\n&#8211; what journalists expect<br \/>\n&#8211; how to organise your presentation: content, tone, tools<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Personal image<br \/>\n&#8211; your dress code: a way to communicate<br \/>\n&#8211; smart, professional, confident: the right look for every situation<br \/>\n&#8211; your wardrobe: essential items<br \/>\n&#8211; rules of behaviour<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Role play<br \/>\n&#8211; face-to-face interview<br \/>\n&#8211; telephone interview<br \/>\n&#8211; television interview<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Course structure<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The course consists of an interactive class session of approximately 4 hours held by the consultants of DAG Communication.<br \/>\nThis is followed by an individual session where each participant will take part in a series of simulated interviews. The timing and location of the individual session will be agreed with each participant.
